Gospel artiste Pius O Praiz, known for his soulful vocals and passionate worship ministry, recently opened up about a pivotal moment in his music career during an exclusive interview on The Christians Connect Show hosted by Steve Owusu, affectionately called The Shishiishi Man, on Energy 91.1 FM.
Reflecting on life after TV3 Mentor Season 4, Pius revealed that celebrated Ghanaian music producer Appiatus encouraged him to pursue a career in secular music. According to Pius, Appiatus believed in his talent and star potential, even offering his full support to help launch him into the mainstream music industry.
“He told me I had what it takes—not just the voice but the look too. He really wanted to help me go secular,” Pius recounted.
However, driven by a strong Christian foundation and a deep conviction about his calling, Pius respectfully declined the offer. He felt a spiritual responsibility to use his gifts solely for gospel music, despite the tempting opportunity to gain faster fame through the secular route.
“It wasn’t an easy decision, but I knew where God wanted me to be,” he added.
Today, that decision is bearing fruit. Pius O Praiz is actively promoting his latest gospel single “Number One” featuring the anointed worship minister Carl Clottey. The song, a heartfelt expression of God’s supremacy, is already gaining attention for its rich lyrics and powerful delivery.
Pius’s story is one of bold faith, sacrifice, and purpose, reminding young creatives that success doesn’t always mean following the popular path. Sometimes, it means staying true to your calling—no matter the cost.
