During the recent National Thanksgiving service featured on UTV News, Archbishop Duncan Williams shared a powerful and hopeful vision for Ghana’s future. Speaking to a nation eager for progress and prosperity, he expressed his heartfelt desire to see a generation of Ghanaians who no longer travel abroad out of necessity, but rather for leisure and enjoyment.

Archbishop Williams highlighted a common reality many Ghanaians face: the decision to leave home in search of greener pastures abroad. This migration often stems from the pursuit of better economic opportunities, education, or living conditions. But during his uplifting message at the thanksgiving service, he looked beyond the current challenges, envisioning a time when travel will be a matter of choice—when it will be synonymous with vacation rather than survival.
“I look forward to a generation of Ghanaians where traveling will not be for green pasture but rather a vacation,” he said, encouraging hope and collective effort towards national development.
Archbishop Williams’ message is both a prayer and a call to action. It calls on leaders, communities, and every Ghanaian to work together in creating an environment where opportunities abound for everyone. It’s about investing in the nation’s infrastructure, education, and economy so that future generations can confidently say, “I travel to see the world, not because I have to leave mine.”
I profess to the vision of archbishop Duncan Williams. Amen
I pray that these words not only be heard but all necessary action from every citizen and non citizen but reside in Ghana will wholeheartedly pursue. May Yaweh water all efforts to make this happen in Yeshua Hamashia’s name. Amen and Amen 🙏🏽
