Ghana’s vibrant creative arts sector witnessed a major boost as Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, paid an official visit to the newly launched creative studio by award-winning gospel artiste Joe Mettle. The visit marked a significant moment of collaboration between government and private sector stakeholders working to advance Ghana’s creative economy.
Hon. Dzifa Gomashie commended Joe Mettle for his visionary initiative, describing the studio as “a remarkable model for innovation, creativity, and growth in the arts.” She highlighted the importance of such private-led projects, noting that they perfectly align with the Ministry’s broader vision of building a thriving, sustainable, and globally competitive creative industry in Ghana.
During the visit, Joe Mettle personally led the Minister and her delegation on a tour of the state-of-the-art facility. The studio is a multifunctional creative space designed to support a wide range of artistic and cultural productions, including music recording, live talk shows, film projects, and other media content. With a seating capacity of 200 to 300, the facility is built as a collaborative hub for creatives, providing a professional environment where artists, producers, and content creators can bring their ideas to life.
Speaking after the tour, the Minister expressed her delight at the quality and vision behind the project. She emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting such innovative ventures, stressing that partnerships between the public and private sectors are essential to unlocking the full potential of Ghana’s creative economy.
“This is exactly the kind of initiative we want to see more of,” Hon. Gomashie said. “When private individuals invest in the creative arts, it not only empowers young talents but also contributes significantly to our cultural identity and national development.”
Joe Mettle shared that the launch of the studio is just the beginning. Plans are already underway to expand the facility and introduce more functional spaces that cater to diverse creative needs. His goal is to create a dynamic ecosystem that nurtures creativity, encourages collaboration, and pushes Ghana’s creative output to the global stage.
The visit concluded with a renewed sense of optimism and partnership. It signaled a shared commitment from both government and industry leaders to invest in creativity, culture, and innovation as key drivers of national progress.
